U.S. Citizens Now Entitled To Free Credit Report

Most companies involved with security or finances recommend that you check your credit report to help ward off identity theft. The problem is, the only ways to get a report is normally require paying money. I agree with the line of thinking, "this information is about me, I should be able to access it." Some states have agreed and allow their citizens access to their credit report so many times a year. It is now being nationally rolled out, starting with the western states and moving east, that you are entitled to one free credit report each year. I'd encourage everyone to check out your credit report if you haven't recently. The only good reason not to is that frequent polling of your credit, for some reason, doesn't look good to loan companies.
