Sullivan's Finally Lost It

Abandoning any sense of pretending to be remotely conservative, Andrew now claims (and no, I'm not justifying his site any longer with a link) that conservatives in this country are deeply unpopular. We have the past four years telling us otherwise, but surely he has some evidence, right? Or not. Instead, he insists that conservatives know how to use key words that make their positions seem positive enough to garner votes while actually remaining terribly unpopular. Huh?

Let's see what the people of the USA have said is unpopular...Late-term abortions, rampant illegal immigration, high taxes, gun control, and gay marriage. These liberal ideas continually get shot down by large majorities of voters in nearly every state. And yet we don't like conservative ideas? It seems to be a weak argument that it's all in how conservatives talk about issues. Sullivan, like many other liberals, is simply in denial. Are the majority of Americans in love with conservative principles? No. But they do realize that they're the more responsible choice and more Americans will continue to choose that choice.
