Loyal readers already know that the Wardimer did not like Sci Fi's new miniseries "Earthsea." What you probably don't know is that the original author of the Earthsea novels also hates the miniseries. Her essential problems with the miniseries are:
1. Too many white folks - the original was truly multicultural,
2. No real story or plot - the original was very much a coming of age story, and
3. No consideration for the author - after her first sale, they never came back to ask advice, permission, or even blessing.
You'd think Sci Fi would have more respect for the authors that made their channel a possibility. But then, this is more evidence that the current management has no respect for its audience or its progenitors. They just want another profitable popular network.
