There's a piece up at the WSJ that should give pause to anyone who under-estimates China. Can there be any doubt that America is on the verge of losing its role as the world's only super-power? With the rise of China, and perhaps the EU, we have some serious challenges ahead of us. Not only does China have a military that will soon match ours (something the EU will never do) but they pose an even greater threat economically and through the use of resources. And in a hundred years when Africa has overcome its tribal backgrounds and forms its own course in world history, resources will become even more limited. Yet, our policies reflect no thought for what is to come, no concept of that day when we cannot expect everything by birth-right. We're convicting our children to a second-class life because of woefully inadequate policies. Will our politicians step up to the challenge of leading us successfully into the new century or will they fail to act and leave us to reap what they have sown?
Update:
Here's another link to more news about China, this article about the collaboration between China and Russia to develop new military technology and to counter-balance American dominance.
