SysAdmin to Worldwide Users: Flee From Microsoft!

A linux sysadmin (i.e. certified system administrator - one of those geeks at your company who do nothing but make sure your servers and PCs are shielded from virii, spam, and hackers) found out his wife's Windows computer was infected by spyware (software that tracks your activities and sends back info to someone else) and trojans (tiume-bomb programs that can wipe out your PC just by being clicked upon). He decided to clean out the little monster, since he had multiple degrees in computer science. The result? It took 5 hours for him to clean things out. His conclusion? Windows insecurity is by design, and it is time for everyont to leave the system, or risk being overwhelmed by these problems.
That's right - a system administrator for 10 years with a degree in computer science and a RHC CAN clean up a single spyware infection in 5 hours. I hope you see what I am really saying here. How on this earth are people that aren't trained in Information Technology going to do it? ... Having now battled with spyware, I am finally motivated to speak up and say something to the world. I want to get a single message across: It's time for anyone running a Windows PC to switch to Linux. You see, the Windows platform is not just insecure - it's patently, blatantly, and unashamedly insecure by design and for all the lip service to security it's really not going to get better, ever.
It matches my own experience. I'd personally urge users to consider switching to Apple and MacOS X. But otherwise, I think he makes an excellent case.
