Ever since the phenomenon of iPod sharing was first reported it has been obvious to me what the next logical step for the iPod should be. Equip it with Wifi, and enable any iPod to stream the song currently being played by any other iPod in range. It takes the iPod phenomenon and transforms it into a shared experience, without risking the RIAA losing money from song swapping. Imagine how cool it would be to be on the subway in NYC and be able to listen to the songs of any of the other 100 iPod users within range! Coolness!!!

WifiPod? Sorta
What could possibly make the iPod - Apple's classic MP3 music player - better? What about adding Wifi (i.e. Airport, i.e. 802.11b, i.e. Wireless Networking) to the device?! This is hardly an elegant approach - you need a whole lotta wiring and a PocketPC with a specific program on it - but it might hit the spot for some geeks.
