Now that I, Robot has become the number one movie this week, it is sure to spark some debate among the masses. There's a decent piece here discussing some of the questions that can be raised by any picture dealing with this sort of topic.
For those interested, I would also recommend R.U.R which is credited as the first book to use the term "robot." The robots were very different from what we imagine them today, and the story is vivid as well as full of religious imagery that is often missing in today's science fiction. It's one of my favorite books, especially from the sci-fi genre, and it deals with the issues in ways that current sci-fi tends to not dare to.
