Third Party Madness

While I truly think America is ready for a serious Third Party, I have spent most of my time researching third party candidates for president, laughing. Consider, for example, the "Personal Choice Party" whose presidential candidate is an ex-boxing promoter and whose vice-presidential candidate is a current porn star. Or consider the "Socialist Worker's Party" whose candidates are both Constitutionally ineligible to serve (presidential candidate is a convicted felon and the veep candidate is 24). And this year there are three socialist parties. Wasn't there only one in 2000? Or how about the "Prohibition Party" who has two competing slates of candidates claiming the legitimate place on the ticket.



The sheer number of third parties listed here amazing to me: 11 parties. Add to that 33 write-in candidates listed. Who knew there were so many people in this country who desperately want "ran for president" on their resume? And you thought this was a two-party system.
