More Cheney-Related Weirdness

What is up with the Dick Cheney-branch of the Bush/Cheney reelection effort? Now, the Arizona Daily Star is alleging that the campaign demanded to know the race of a photographer who would be covering the Veep at a local event. While this may just have been a minor functionary filling out some standard form, the story indicates that usually the press just has to put out the name, birthdate, and social security number of its reporters, so that the Secret Service can vet them effectively. While it could be argued the question was innocent, the only worse question to make a big deal out of would have been to ask the sexual orientation of the reporter.

Bush/Cheney campaign! If you are reading this BLog (and odds are that you have no idea we exist... yet) please hire someone to ride herd over the Cheney-part of your campaign. These kinds of flubs will not stay below the radar much longer. John Kerry has abandoned all pretense of a positive campaign, so you can expect every one of these to become front-page news. Take control now, or be wondering in November why you lost, even though the President himself may have a very high approval rating.

And, Mr. Cheney, if you really want to get fired, please just come out and say it.
