Gays Might Want to Rethink Strategy

The gay lobby has been crying for years to make the issue of gay rights one for the states. Now that it is beginning to happen, it looks as if they're not happy with one state's results. I'm all for making gay marriages a states rights issue. But the homosexual lobby had better wake up and realize that many states with vote against gay marriage. A vast majority of Americans feel that gays should not have the right to marry, even as they opposed the Constitutional amendment. On a state level, the gays are going to find incredible resistance to their battle for marriage rights.

What will happen when say, only four or five states vote to allow gays to marry? Following the typical liberal pattern, the gays will probably sue and attempt to push their agenda through by use of the court systems. This kind of activity is in every way contradictory to the ideals of democracy and this debate is quickly threatening to create a real tear in our system and society.

The liberals in this country fail to realize that circumventing the will of the people is not the proper way to run a democracy. There are lots of things I would like to see happen in this country, but that doesn't mean that I have the right to push that onto the majority if they disagree. Yet, the far left continues to believe that pandering to minorities for the purpose of racking up votes is the right course for our country. I couldn't disagree more. If gays want the right to marry then they need to get out and change people's minds, not try to force legal action to silence those who disagree with them.
