Okay, Everyone CALM DOWN!

Well, I was not able to be online much today, because my Kyocera 7135 is down. My work has a policy against any internet access by employees that is not explicitly work-related. Anyway, since I have gotten off of work and really looked online, it sounds more and more like the Right and the Left are having twin fits over the possibility of the other guy winning. Let me make this clear: America will survive another 4 years of Bush, or 4 years of John Kerry.

If Bush wins, then the Left can take comfort in:

1. The close election win would be a major setback to the president's policies. The House of Representatives is sensitive to the movement of the electorate and likely to cling closer to a Kerryite or Deaniac position.

2. The executive branch is still limited by the Legislative and Judicial branch.

3. Bush's focus on the War is likely to keep his eye off of many RIGHT concerns.

If Kerry wins, then the Right can take comfort in:

1. Congress will still be Republican-controlled (assuming no MAJOR surprises to incumbents)

2. Michael Moore's Left is far off from the center, and is unlikely to keep power in a Kerry whitehouse which will start Day 1 thinking about the campaign for 2008 (especially with Hillary angrily waiting in the wings).

3. Iraq and Afghanistan are already free, and can not be unfreed. Elections are due to happen before Bush's first term expires, and will be a major vindication of the War.

As for the Middle, the only way you can say it has won, is if Congress and the White House wind up in opposite parties, and thus Gridlock is the watchword for 4 years.
