Star Wars DVD Reviews Coming Online!

If you have been reading this space for any period of time, you know that I am a Star Wars Freak. Now, I don't own any Darth Vader masks, I haven't constructed my own R2-D2 coffee table, and I don't end every conversation with "May the Force be with you." But I am still a major fan of Sir George's original trilogy, and even a major apologist for the new trilogy and the special editions. So I am pleased to note that AICN has up their review of the Star Wars Original Triology DVDs. This review is worthy of special note for actual pictures of some of the new changes that have been added since the Special Editions hit the theater. No, Jar-Jar does not reveal that he is Chewie's father. But the changes seem largely positive, including another change to the Han-Greedo scene which is probably a half-hearted admittance that Lucas's original change was wrong. As always, be aware that AICN's stuff includes mild profanity, and that they have an unmoderated TalkBack area that can include gratuitous profanity and idiocy. But it is worth it to get a peek at the goodies awaiting us September 21. My set is already preordered.
