Yahoo! News is reporting that a mushroom cloud has been seen over North Korea, near a ballistic missile base. While the source is not necesarily nuclear, it occurred on the anniversary of the founding of the tiny communist country and may be Kim Jong Il's way of thumbing his nose at the world. Then again, other scientists note that above-ground nuclear testing is highly dangerous in such a tiny country - fallout may be blown back onto a village or city - so this mean be a sign of a nuclear accident. Whatever is the cause, it left a crater large enough to be seen from space.
Does it make anyone else nervous that this happened on the anniversary of 9/11?
