Proof that we fat people have power, too!

Did Delta Zeta learn nothing from the spiritual power of Buddha or the toy-making power of Santa Claus or the criminal enterprise of Jabba the Hutt? You mess with the overweight at your own risk. Gravity is a force, too, you know!

DePauw University's president on Monday ordered a sorority off campus by fall after Delta Zeta kicked out nearly two dozen members and drew accusations that only attractive, popular students were asked to remain.

School President Robert G. Bottoms said the values of the sorority did not fit with the 2,200-student private college in western Indiana.

The Delta Zeta sorority has said the 23 evictions were based on the members' lack of commitment to recruiting new members. But those asked to leave have charged that they were removed because of their appearance, contending they were active and supportive members of their sorority.

Other stories on this event stress the weight issue more than this one does, admitedly. Still, the point stands.
