Wind Power Has Climate Impact, Too

Anyone remember that very simple rule from your early science classes, and any Physics classes you were brave enough to take, "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction"? Well, it is proven yet again, as a new study shows that wind power farms could have a huge impact on world climate, too. While this is probably a shock to the wind power advocates who have been pushing windmills over fossil fuel power plants, it should not be a shock to anyone who has really thought about it. Whenever you take energy OUT of a system, that system changes. Using the warm (or cold) winds to make electricity, means there is less of that wind to do what wind usually does: move air. Of course, wind is still superior to fossil fuel power sources in one respect: wind comes from the sun's effect on our atmosphere, so we are not likely have any wind power shortages unless the sun goes out. And if that happens, well, how we get electricity to power out DVD players will be the least of our problems.
