Marines Celebrate In Indiana and Iraq

There is an article up about a celebration of Marines in Indianapolis who were able to have a speakerphone conversation with some of the Marines in Iraq shortly before the attack on Falujah. An interesting read showing the comradery of Marines both currently serving and retired as well as near and far. Probably one of the most moving comments from the article was from John L. Baker, past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ernie Pyle Post to the Hallals family whose son died in Iraq in April:

Baker also wanted to say something publicly Saturday to the Hallals, but he was too choked up. By Monday, he could get it out. "I know you lost a son, but you gained a million brothers. As long as there is a Marine Corps, your son will never die."
Semper Fi!
