It's the sound of every ounce of respect I had for Desmond Tutu flushing down the drain. What a sad, sad time we live in when formerly strong willed models of authority have become so blinded that they can no longer see evil and tell it from good. We have truly lost our stride here in the opening years of the new century. I can only pray that we find it again. To hear such an otherwise respectable figure spouting lines that could have been ripped from DU, it's just a travesty.
And it's not that I disagree with his views...I can deal with that and still respect someone deeply. But the blind willingness to confuse evil and good. The inability to even admit that there are such things as evil and good, and that there is a very real battle continuing between them on this earth. No religious man worth an ounce can dare to deny evil. To deny that evil exists is to fall prey to human arrogance and it is the start down the path to evil itself.
