Tool Award

Some tools just do the work for you,
The California lawyer who tried to have the phrase "under God" removed from the Pledge of Allegiance now wants to legally prevent President Bush from placing his hand on a Bible while being sworn in at his inauguration.

Michael Newdow, an atheist doctor and lawyer from Sacramento, has filed a complaint and a motion for preliminary injunction in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, seeking to remove prayer and all "Christian religious acts" from the Jan. 20 inauguration.
I've been very clear on this blog that I don't think you need to be a Christian to be a good American. You can even be a really decent person without being a Christian. There should be no punishment in our system for those who don't believe in any sort of higher being. However, it is an undeniable fact that much of what this country (and even Western civilization) has done has come about because of Christian contributions to society. It's easy to focus on the negative (and believe me, there is negative) but our world would not look anything like it does today without the contributions of Christianity. The first hospitals, schools, relief organizations, etc all had Christians at the healms.

But then, Michael, you're a tool so you wouldn't take the time to stop and think about that. No, instead you insist that everyone be just like you. Ironically, you fail to notice how much that makes you just like those fundamentalist Christians you can't stand. But hey, if you don't like it then I hear there are a whole lot of "atheist" countries in Europe that you might enjoy. Oh wait, they're all becoming Muslim. You might not want to take your atheism over there. Considering what Muslims think of atheists, you might wish you still lived in our horrible religious country, you tool.
