Yesterday around 4 PM, a SEVERE thunderstorm struck the area where I work (bad enough to knock out power to our data center for several seconds) with Noah-like rains flooding the parking lot. I dashed off a note to my mother, who just got a new car with a sunroof, to alert her to close the sunroof as the storms were heading her way. She only got the e-mail around 8 AM this morning. It appears she is not alone.
At a time when AOL offers the worst possible deal on the Web, can they really afford to have such a huge and horrible glitch? I've been trying to get Mom off of AOL for years - she only uses it for e-mail - but she remains adamant. How long until they finally offend these long-time customers, and sink like the Titanic-after-the-Iceberg they are?
