Michael Moore Cuts Draw Blood?

Michael Moore is again drawing controversy by cutting his interview with a Republican Representative. The creative cut turns an ambush interview that makes the GOP look good into one that makes the same party look bewildered.

A transcript released by the film's producers shows Moore telling Kennedy that "there is only one member [of Congress] who has a kid over there in Iraq." He asks Kennedy to help him pass out literature encouraging others "to get their kids to enlist in the Army and go over to Iraq."

Kennedy replies, "I'd be happy to. Especially those who voted for the war. [As Kennedy did.] I have a nephew on his way to Afghanistan."

To which Moore replies: "I appreciate it."

Now, this is hardly worth a howl or an immediate censure of Mr. Moore. Creative editting is done all the time in documentaries - after all they have to cut the thousands of hours of footage down to a 90 minute film. But the cuts should be done carefully, especially when you are playing with the political dynamite called 9/11.
