I still think the ideal is a Tivo/ReplayTV hard drive that records to a DVD for archiving. But at this price, it is hard to pass up. Even better, what about a combo DVD Recorder, VCR which lets you dub from a VHS tape to a DVD?

DVD Recorders coming of age?
Remember when you got your first VCR and suddenly wondered at your ability to record a TV show and watch it later? (If you say "No" then I must really be getting old!) Well, now may be the time to upgrade from VHS to DVD-R. On our trip to New Jersey for Memorial Day Weekend, I found what was heretofore unthinkable item. A DVD recorder for under $200! (And if you have never read "heretofore" in a sentence before then I must be really, really getting old.) Is it time to take the plunge from large rectangles to tiny disks for reruns of ENTERPRISE or SIMPSONS?
