First SPIDER-MAN 2 Review

While watching the new Superbit version of Spider-Man on DVD, when I found - on the web - the FIRST REVIEW FOR SPIDER-MAN 2 at Ain't It Cool News! (For those not aware of Superbit it is a DVD format that gets rid of all the extras like animated menus, etc. in order to pack as much picture and sound info onto the disk as possible. i.e. You get HD-TV quality without the need for a true HD-DVD format. And it is totally compatible with all current players - even looks great on my little 6.5" LCD player!) Spider-Man was a staple of my Saturday morning cartoon watching as a kid, and a regular in my room from everything from action figures to underoos to comic books. Looks like this one is going to be at least as good as the original.

So what can I say? Well, let me begin by stating for the record, this is exponentially better than the first SPIDER-MAN, and it does for this franchise what X2 did for the X-MEN series, turning up everything that fans liked about the first film and introducing a whole ... lot of new things to enjoy. So far, it’s pretty obvious that X-MEN and SPIDER-MAN are the crown gems of the Marvel Films universe, and I have a feeling that when fans get a load of this movie, they’re going to go into full-system shock at just how right it is.

THREE IMPORTANT WARNINGS:

1. AICN includes a Talkback system which is unmoderated, which means there will be profane language in responses to the article.

2. This review includes spoilers once you get past the first few paragraphs. There is plenty of warning before the reviewer dives into them, but FYI.

3. AICN is a very popular site, but has very uncooperative servers. It may take you a while to load or you may have to come back later if the servers become overloaded.
