The PowerPage is one of many news sources reporting on
Apple Computer's newest addition to its
wireless networking line. The new
Airport Express is the equivilent of an Airport Base station about the size of an
iPod. The Airport Express can serve as the base of a wireless network (especially for the on-the-go professional), as a network extender (for those for whom a single base station will not cover the whole house/office),
and will let you wirelessly integrate your
iTunes collection with your home stereo!!!
This thing is
too cool. And running at $130, it might finally extend wireless networking to those who previously could not afford it. I can imagine college students all over the country running out to buy one of these babies, to turn the free wired access in their dorm rooms into a pervasive wireless network. And let me say once again, you don't know freedom until you have surfed the net while in the shade of a tall tree, far from any electrical outlet!
