Angry Republicans II

Republicans are downplaying differences within the party over some of President Bush's more controversial policies. It shouldn't come as a shock that some conservatives, especially far right radicals, are upset with his policies. He has overseeing massive spending increases (very un-Republican), he has been involved with nation building by invading two countries in the attempt to put stable democracies in place (very un-Republican) and with the exception of some lip service, he has not been particularly active in pushing conservative social ideas (very un-Republican.) He caved on the Michigan affirmative action case, he called for a constitutional amendment that everyone knows will never pass, etc.

This president has actually been fairly moderate in his approach to many things. This reflects the hypocrisy of the far left even more sharply. They praised President Clinton for some of his more moderate, or dare I say...conservative policies such as endorsing NAFTA. But when President Bush acts like a liberal, he's still a cold-hearted meanie who is only nation building because he wants oil. How can the idea that this was a war for oil and money, the dumbest idea in a long sad parade of dumb ideas put forth by Nancy Pilosi, still persist? Has anyone looked at the cost of these wars? We're losing money and so are the companies working there. A casual look at the records for these contractors reveals a margin of profit not nearly as high as we are being led to believe by the far left. But still, this war is fought so that Bush's friends can get rich. How can anyone take the Democrats seriously right now?

The Democrats are still angry at the President because before he was elected, they said he was stupid and they said he was incapable, and they said that he didn't know how to be President. Within the first couple of months, he made them all look stupid as he hijacked their ideas and used them against the left. It was a perfect Clintonesque move that slapped them on the face and they have not recovered. Instead of celebrating that a moderate got into office who is doing some of their work for them, they continue to whine and insist that he is a moron. Wow, that's a great political policy. Name calling. Is this really the best that the Democrats have to offer? Even with disagreements among conservatives, I don't see how anyone can think there is even a choice this November. The decision is clear in my mind.
