Next week Apple is having a 'big event' at which it is universally accepted that new iPods will be announced. The current speculation is that iTunes 8 will also be released at this event. Personally, I hope that iTunes 8 would include better resource management and be less of a memory hog. Granted all that I do in iTunes is manage my music library and listen to podcasts. My iPod is 6 or 7 years old, so a lot of the more fancy things iTunes can do, don't affect me. What would Mod-Blog readers like to see in a new version of iTunes?
I use iTunes as a Movie/TV hub as well. I'd like to see better metadata for videos - what is there is fairly minimal now - an especially enhancements for non-iTMS videos. I'd also like to see the ability to view other kinds of data within iTunes like PDFs of album art. You can store them in iTunes now, but must exit to view them.
YanıtlaSilAnd I'd still like a more stable AppleTV connection. Mine drops regularly.
I agree about metadata - make it easier to slice and dice and tag more easily. I know there's an intriguing plugin where you can tag music by "mood."
YanıtlaSilOne little thing that has bugged me - it's still called "iTunes", yet it offers a whole plethera of content other than music. Rename the thing to be more inclusive of the content it provides and syncs.
Remember, it provides syncing and content for:
-music
-tv
-movies
-podcasts
-video podcasts
-audiobooks
-apps
-calendars
-contacts
-etc.
I discussed this a while ago and offered up "iHub."
It's hard to replace a well-known name. Some people's brains will not make the transfer easily.
YanıtlaSilrefurb 30 GB iPod at http://www.woot.com. Looks like a good price to me, though I'm not sure what 30 GB's go for now.
