According to Politico.com Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate for president will not be on the ballot in Connecticut. Here is the report:
"Barr did not make the ballot in D.C. or West Virginia, and he is challenging Connecticut’s decision to drop him from the rolls after the state invalidated signatures on his candidate petitions and said that he did not reach the minimum."
Looks like some Mod-Blogers who are not happy with John McCain or Barak Obama will have to find a different 3rd party candidate to vote for.
Here is a chart of which 3rd party candidates are available in which state ballots. CT has Green Party, Constitution Party, and Ralph Nader (Ind).
YanıtlaSilStill not sure what I will do. Despite Palin, I do not trust John McCain. And I don't think I can cast a vote for anyone as Pro-Abortion as Barack Obama.
There is always the write-in option. Of course, you have to write legibly!!!
YanıtlaSilI was going to suggest write-in. It'd be better if the candidate were on the actual ballot, but in our 2-party system it doesn't make much difference.
YanıtlaSilSee, I do trust McCain, more or less. I'd like to know why you don't.
YanıtlaSilNick,
YanıtlaSilPartially it is a gut feeling, partially it is his glee at "being the maverick" McCain delights in confounding people by doing things against type. When folks criticized him as a corrupt politician, he turned himself into the Great Reformer. When people criticized him as anti-Bush, he came out as his biggest supporter and then tried to get out in front of Bush on every issue in the War. Etc.
Plus, I do not think Abortion is an important issue in his mind. I think he sees it as a key to securing the base, but once he is elected he no longer needs the GOP base. Let's be honest. If 8 years aged young men like Bill Clinton and George W Bush, what will it do someone who is already showing his age?
These are my reasons, right or wrong.
