Uday Wanted Sadaam's Fall, Too?

A controversial journalist is claiming he has secret information that Uday Hussein was planning on overthrowing Sadaam and would have removed the dictator even if the US had not invaded. Of course, the implication is that therefore the War in Iraq was a waste of effort. But even if you ignore the fact that most mainline journalists are highly skeptical of his sources and methos, the theory does not hold up. After all, Uday was no better than his father for cruelty, pride, and overweening self-indulgence. If Uday had taken the reins we would have replaced a psychotic genocidal killer with a psychotic rapist killer. Let's be honest with ourselves. No matter what you think about the war, you must admit the world is better off without the Hussein family.
