Yesterday, CRChair and I went down to Frenchtown, NJ for the Revelation Generation (Rev Gen) concert. I thought our Mod-Blog readers might enjoy seeing some photos I got of the event. And who knows? Maybe next year a few of you might come along if you are in the area.
Interesting tidbit for photographers among you. SLRs were banned from the event, so this was taken with the waterproof minicam that I use when biking.
Did they say why SLRs were banned?
YanıtlaSilSLRs were banned, along with any kind of "professional" camera. The idea was that any publicity of the event and the bands would be under the control of the event organizers. Of course, this is ENTIRELY unrealistic, but since when are concert organizers realistic?
YanıtlaSilAnd, of course, once I was past security (which I found rather invasive for an outdoor event) I saw PLENTY of people with SLRs. Some were probably authorized - press and the like - but I believe a lot simply were let thru. Made me quite perturbed when my minicam's second battery gave out before the closing act. My SLR would have lasted another whole day.
Still, it was a challenge and a chance for growth and learning as a photographer.
never before have i loved my press pass so very much... ;)
