MSNBC iPhone Breaks and Apple Replaces for Free

I was reading the article on MSNBC about one of their employees who had an iPhone which stopped working after 4 days. The article is written in a way as to give you a bad impression of Apple, but if you read the article and look at the facts as presented in the article, I think you get a good impression of Apple.

The basic story is this: A guy buys and iPhone. It stops working and can't be fixed by a reset. He calls AT&T who basically says send it back to us and we'll give you a refund minus a 10% restocking fee. They say they can connect him to an Apple representative instead if he would like. He waits on hold for the Apple Rep and decides to drive to the local Apple Store. As he gets to the store the Apple Rep comes on the phone. The Apple Rep calls the store and hooks the customer up with the store manager so the customer is in contact with that store manager when he enters the store. After a few minutes the Apple store exchanges the iPhone for free with a new phone and the customer walks out with a new iPhone.

The Article then goes on to say how the guy wonders if Apple will erase his data and how if he had to send it in to Apple he would have had to pay for a loaner phone if he wanted one. Ignoring the fact that he just got a new replacement phone with little trouble once he started dealing with Apple. It is funny to see Microsoft spinning Apple as bad even in a so called news story.
