When Apple unveiled MobileMe as "Outlook for the rest of us", it was obvious that Steve Jobs was aiming at the heart of Microsoft. When the iPhone App Store became a runaway success, it was obvious that Microsoft could not longer be satisfied with their Zune. The question was, how long would the Windows Behemoth wait to respond. The answer is here. The question is, will their new "SkyLine and SkyMarket" products be true competitors to the Apple iTunes behemoth?
And, of course, the other question is whether these two products run on "SkyNet". (If you don't get the reference, may I suggest a movie download?)

MSNBC iPhone Breaks and Apple Replaces for Free
I was reading the article on MSNBC about one of their employees who had an iPhone which stopped working after 4 days. The article is written in a way as to give you a bad impression of Apple, but if you read the article and look at the facts as presented in the article, I think you get a good impression of Apple.
The basic story is this: A guy buys and iPhone. It stops working and can't be fixed by a reset. He calls AT&T who basically says send it back to us and we'll give you a refund minus a 10% restocking fee. They say they can connect him to an Apple representative instead if he would like. He waits on hold for the Apple Rep and decides to drive to the local Apple Store. As he gets to the store the Apple Rep comes on the phone. The Apple Rep calls the store and hooks the customer up with the store manager so the customer is in contact with that store manager when he enters the store. After a few minutes the Apple store exchanges the iPhone for free with a new phone and the customer walks out with a new iPhone.
The Article then goes on to say how the guy wonders if Apple will erase his data and how if he had to send it in to Apple he would have had to pay for a loaner phone if he wanted one. Ignoring the fact that he just got a new replacement phone with little trouble once he started dealing with Apple. It is funny to see Microsoft spinning Apple as bad even in a so called news story.
