Well, I went into the Super Bowl thinking that the Patriots would win, but hoping that the Eagles would pull it off. I'm not an Eagles fan, but I am a fan of Donovan McNabb. On top of that, Terrel Owens used to be a 49er. The biggest reason, though, has to do with how the Patriots snubbed Connecticut while I was living there. They came to us, acting like they would move, only to turn their back when Massachussetts caved to their demands for a new stadium. They had no intention of moving, they just wanted some leverage.
I don't know what was up with McNabb today. He had about two really good passes and that was it. Unfortunately, New England was breaking through the offense too quickly and surrounding McNabb so that he couldn't run, but McNabb's play was still sloppy. Heck, both teams were sloppy.
This game was one of the more boring football games I've seen and it was a close game. Heck, even most of the commercials were boring and some of them played multiple times. My favorite one was one that might have only shown out here in California because it involved a California Highway Patrolman. It showcased a new convertible and had the guy frozen in the car with a tagline similar to, "You don't introduce a convertible this irresistable in winter"
I was dissapointed, but as the NFL says, tomorrow we're all undefeated.
