The economy has now recouped all the jobs lost since the start of the 2001 recession, according to Labor Department data released in Washington...The rise in January payrolls and revisions covering the last five years were enough to bring employment above the level seen in February 2001, when the world's largest economy fell into an eight- month recession, bringing to an end longest U.S. employment slump since the Great Depression. Economists expect further gains as the economy expands this year. That's right, every job lost due to the recession that started in late 2000 and the 9/11 attacks has been gained back. We currently have as high an employment rate as we did during the "glory years" of President Clinton.
But have no fear, I'm sure the liberals will find some way to argue that this is actually a bad thing. Or they'll claim that President Bush had nothing to do with it, even though they argued that he had EVERYTHING to do with every lost job. But what would liberals be, if not hypocrits? Within a couple of years of a stalled economy and the biggest attack ever on our country (an attack at the heart of our financial system), our country has totally recovered. The stock market is back up to near top performance and employment is as good as it ever was. That's a testament to the will of the people of our great country.
