The President's Speech
So I found the speech last night to be lacking. This was his first prime-time speech in who-knows how long and I just feel that he didn't say anything new. Sure, he reassured us that he is committed to Iraq but we already knew that. We know that Bush is going to stay with his convictions no matter what happens. I thought there should have been more emphasis on what we don't know yet. That is, what is the plan. I'm glad to see that our military has the authority to crack down on those who would kill Americans and other nationals who are in their country to try and help them. But this should have been the policy since last April. It looks more and more like we've just been trying to be too soft on enemies for fear of alienating supporters. We've already ticked off half the world though, so we should at least take steps to protect our military over there. The President needs to understand that we don't need more resolve, we need more information.
