Tony Blair to Step Down Within a Year

As many news sources are reporting, Tony Blair, who has long not been on party message with his own party, has announced that he will step down within the next year. This is a big blow for GWB and the US as one of the reasons Blair is not that popular is his support of the war on terror. An article over at MarketWatch claims that Blair is a good moderate who would do well if he were running in US politics. As the article points out, Blair has been in charge during a very good economic cycle for the British, but some say that it is more the doing of Chancellor Gordon Brown, the assumed successor to Blair. The British do have to worry about the growing radical move in the UK to make the UK an Islamic state, but I don't see a waning of the war on terror making things better. They've just shown that they're willing to back down in order to feel "safe".
