How-To Comic Book for Prospective Illegal Immigrants.

Yeah, yeah, I know the smiley here is awful. But I have to express my ire somehow that the Mexican government, in an attempt to "make immigration safer" has issued a comic book to help Mexicans break into the USA. No I am not kidding. The government has issued a free comic book that is packaged in with several popular adult comic books, with tips like "Crossing a river can be very risky, especially if you cross alone and at night...Heavy clothing becomes heavier when wet, and this makes swimming or floating difficult." And what about the ever-popular, "If you get lost, guide yourself with light poles, train tracks or dirt roads." Sigh. How is this different from issuing a booklet to help terrorists circumvent immigration controls?

Yes, I know we have a special friendship with Mexico and that without migrant workers, many industries in the southwest would suffer. But I have a friend from college, too. He occasionally would come over to my apartment, invite himself inside, and refuse to leave for days at a time while eating my food, breaking my stuff, and abusing me verbally until I threw him out. Eventually, I decided that despite our history of friendship in the past, I had to cut him off for my own well-being. I am a BIG proponent of legal immigration - I believe we are a nation of immigrants and that generally immigration makes us stronger. But when a "friend" is abusing your trust in this way, we have to do something.
