  1. very subversive, and difficult to fight. This is not a Charlten Heston type situation where you can hold a rifle over your head and proclaim "from my cold dead hands!" This is a slow strangling nit-picking attack that has a much better chance of working.

Atheists and Christian attackers should be proud of what they have done here... and then remember the book of Esther. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side against God's chosen people.

Esther 3:16 ...If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.

  2. I have a feeling this has more to do with the feelings of a particular official and that once this goes to court it will be dropped pretty fast - as it will cost the city more to fight it than they will get from the actual permit.

  3. What about what the cost to the family? The lawyer and court costs is a type of blackmail and oppression in itself.

  4. Well stated, BH. This is a bad idea from start to finish. A wedge that could be used to de facto ban any activity by forcing people to expensively defend their rights. And targeting the religious meeting in a private home is especially troubling.
