North East Scores Lowest in Driving Tests

GMAC released its results for driver knowledge tests in a survey that was conducted recently. Connecticut ranked 42nd, New Jersey ranked 50th and New York ranked last. The test itself can be taken here. Connecticut recently eliminated the written portion of its drivers test. The legislature is now considering reinstating the written test.

  1. Even when I took my CT driver's test (in the 80s), it only had 10 questions. Hardly enough to test any real, comprehensive knowledge. I thought it was a joke.

My NJ test (in the 60s) was 100 questions, based upon a 150 page book of laws requirements. I got a 100% on that one!

  2. I think I scored 90%, not sure. I remember I got 1 question wrong, but I can't remember how many there were.
