If I could bike to work, I would... and so would you... and so would crchair... but we all live over 10 miles (maximum reasonable biking distance) from work.
I've said before (though not sure on here) how long it will be before people have to quit their jobs and find a job closer to home due to gas prices. That'll hurt the economy even more when employers have to retrain a bunch of people. Or perhaps people will just move closer to work, raising in-town house prices and lowering suburb house prices.
