If you can't make a state recognize same-sex marriage...

...how about same sex divorce? that appears to be the strategy of one couple who got married in Massachusettes last year, and is now seeking to dissolve the union in a Rhode Island court, despite the fact that Rhode Island does not recognize same-sex marriages. Presumably, a ruling either way opens the door for considerable wrangling concerning "equal protection under the law."

You have to give them points for creativity. But if the judge in this case is smart, he'll simply rule that Rhode Island has no jurisdiction over a practice it does not endorse (or explicitly ban, their constitution and courts have been silent on the issue). What MA joined together, let MA put asunder if it so desires.
