Programmer Jokes

I am technically a Systems Analyst, but I work with programmers and consider myself to be somewhat of one (if only as a hobby at home). So I found this thread of programmer jokes to be hilarious. Warning, there are some off-color jokes at the link, so the faint-of-heart may wish to abstain.

A physicist, an engineer and a programmer were in a car driving over a steep alpine pass when the brakes failed. The car was getting faster and faster, they were struggling to get round the corners and once or twice only the feeble crash barrier saved them from crashing down the side of the mountain. They were sure they were all going to die, when suddenly they spotted an escape lane. They pulled into the escape lane, and came safely to a halt.

The physicist said "We need to model the friction in the brake pads and the resultant temperature rise, see if we can work out why they failed".

The engineer said "I think I've got a few spanners in the back. I'll take a look and see if I can work out what's wrong".

The programmer said "Why don't we get going again and see if it's reproducible?"

I love "Not Always Right"! As a bank employee, this tickled me.

Me: “Would you like to sign up for our free checking account?”

Customer: “No, I usually keep my money in my sofa for safe keeping.”

Me: “You shouldn’t do that.”

Customer: “But it gains interest.”

Me: “How does that work?”

Customer: “When people come over, they keep losing their change in my couch.”

Stubborn Librarians

This just made me laugh.

OK here's the thing. A few months ago, I lost my library card, well my wallet to be precise... "What Should I do [I asked]?"... Directly after I asked my question my librarian, her face screws up, and tells me with no small amount of exasperation "Well, did you look for it? I mean really look for it?"

And it continues from there...

We saw the Simpsons Movie tonight (review probably coming tomorrow), so this article seemed strangely appropriate. It is a compendium of quote from the series with life lessons for guys. (Note, I said GUYS, not MEN. There is an important difference.)
