Food prices are one of the things has me riled up as much as gas prices. Yes, it's becoming more expensive to ship food because of rising gas prices, but the corn industry has made it even worse. Corn used to be used to feed animals because it was cheap. Now that farmers looking for food have to compete with people using corn for ethanol, the price has jumped causing food prices to be more. And to add insult to injury, corn is one of the worst (if not the worst) way to make ethanol given that it produces very little energy for the amount you have to use.
These days I usually ride my bike to get groceries and just yesterday, my wife WALKED with our two kids to the store to get some milk and bread. I try to use as little gas as I can in my personal life to protest the gas giants, and I grow and hunt my own food... because I like it.

YanıtlaSilYou can thank John McCain for his staunch support of Corn Ethanol subsidies for that one.
YanıtlaSilMcCain has been anti-ethanol, I thought.

YanıtlaSilMcCain seems to go both ways: http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2006/11/13/8393132/index.htm
