OFFICIAL Official Playstation 3 Launch Details

Sony formally unveiled the PS3 at the E3 show, and Engadget has the details for us

• Two models at launch, one for $599 and one for $499
• A new controller which looks almost identical to the old PS2 controller, but with motion-sensing technology
• The lesser model will lack WiFi, card reader functionality
And finally, the first official pictures of the PS3

I can't say I am likely to preorder one now, having just spent $20K on a new car. But it looks better to my eyes than the XBox 360 did prior to launch. Here's hoping it is worth the high price!
