Tool Award

This particular tool made it to the limelight in 2003 when he stirred up considerable controversy. He was a man alone in his own understanding, rebelling against a massive agency that was "oppressive" in their teachings. Indeed, they were so oppressive that the Anglican Church ordained this openly gay man a priest. He argued that it wasn't about what you believed or who you loved, so much as it was that you just loved. God "made" him gay, therefore surely God wanted him to spread the Gospel of love and mercy without justice and repentance.

Fastforward to the present and our tool is busy at work reminding us of just why he is worthy of the honor. Here are our worthy winner's words from a recent speech.
"Interestingly enough, in this day of traditional family values, this man that we follow was single, as far as we know, travelled with a bunch of men, had a disciple who was known as 'the one whom Jesus loved' and said my family is not my mother and father, my family is those who do the will of God. None of us likes those harsh words. That's who Jesus is, that's who he was at heart, in his earthly life.

Those who would posit the nuclear family as the be all and end all of God's creation probably don't find that much in the gospels to support it,"
That's right! Not only is the nuclear family anathama to God, but our winner also manages to slide in the not-so-subtle, not-so-hint-hint-wink-wink that Jesus was possibly gay. You can read more of this tool's thougths, and reactions to his drivel here. Including, but not limited to, his thoughts about homophobia and how it's worse than racism!

So, Gene Robinson, I declare you a tool for the ages. Willing to disregard the teachings of the Bible you claim to preach, willing to paint history with your own tainted brush, and willing to suggest that the nuclear family is a non-Christian model. For the triple-threat of hypocrisy, arrogance, and stupidity, you are a tool!
