McCain gets New Hampshire Endorsement

John McCain got an important endorsement from the New Hampshire Union Leader. The Union Leader is the only state wide newspaper in New Hampshire. Its funny, I haven't decided who to vote for in the primary yet, but as it get closer to voting time, I find myself saying that I could see supporting all the major Republican candidates. (Except Ron Paul)

Retraction: Chinese Sub Surprises U.S.S. Kitty Hawk

We here at Mod-Blog are all human and unfortunately, that means we make mistakes. I was discussing the story about the Chinese Sub and the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk today and found out that the article I referenced was misleading. Although the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk was out to sea at the time of the posting, this incident happened during its 2006 winter cruise. I apologize for the erroneous post. The refusal of the Chinese government to dock at Hong Kong did happen this cruise and is considered a big deal.

Mastering your DSLR

A few of us here at Mod-Blog are amateur photographers (technically one of us is a pro, since he got paid at least one time I am aware of) and owners of digital SLR cameras. If you don't know what an SLR camera is, this article probably is not for you. If you DO, then you might be interested in this posting from LifeHacker where they do a great job of explaining the basics of using the Manual Modes on a digital SLR camera. These modes allow you to directly control shutter speed, aperture, and ISO, and the article explains how to compensate each for best effect.

Actually, many "normal" digital cameras these days also have manual modes. So click on through anyway, if you want a chance to take better pictures.
